HAPPY LISTENING!
Pilot
This is our first extremely rough Pilot podcast. We had sound issues, we got off topic numerous times and we had little to no adult supervision! LoL but we touch on subjects like...
👉F & F Presents: Hobbs and Shaw review🎞️
👉Disney's Ideas and Motives 🤔
👉 Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (briefly)🎬
....and many small tidbits more! Happy listening!
Episode Two - Seres Magana
We had our first guest, Seres Magana, director of a new original show being performed at the Pharr Community Theatre called "Bird Brains". We talk a lot about the show and his experience with PCT and what it brings to our community. We also touch on some of the local arts (poetry, open mic, etc.) that people should be aware of. We have a tendency to trail off into other subject matter but...that's just cause we're so excited!! 😊 So give a listen and happy listening!
Episode Three
This time JP and Luis talk about "Good Boys" and Fraga reviews "Scary Stories". We also dive into more Disney, Martial Arts films, and 80s remakes and sequels. Happy listening!
Episode Four - Gina Palacios
In this latest episode, we interview Gina Marie Palacios. She gives us some helpful advice on making a career on acting, her experiences, and we as well talk about movie musicals. Also, MORE DISNEY!! Happy Listening!
Episode Five - School Movies
We talk about our excitement for New trailers, we dive into our movie of the week and since school started up again for all we decided our theme would be school movies. Luis talks about "Edge of Seventeen", JP discusses "Superbad" and Fraga dishes on "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" (he accidentally delves into Spoiler territory, sorry if you haven't seen it). Please enjoy and stay tuned for a little treat you can be a part of with us in the near future. Happy Listening!
Episode Six - It Chapter Two Review and Favorite Movies
Here is our latest greatest newest podcast! Due to scheduling conflicts we were one Luis down....but as the Joker trailer says "Send...in...the......Subs!". We had our good friends Karen Rice and Elo fill some big shoes but they did it with such grace and panache. We talk about local auditions, our thoughts on new trailers, give our spoiler free review on "It Chapter Two" and discuss our favorite movies. We hope you enjoy our horrible accents and our overtly racist/stereotypical undertones.
(Disclaimer: Fraga does use the N word two or three times... but only when referencing the topic that is being talked about.) Happy Listening!!
BTW The movie JP is referring to can be found here. "The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4". Enjoy!!
"Its okay to say it if referencing a topic, movie or artists words!! If I offend anyone I'm sorry!!" 😔
-Daniel Fraga
Episode Seven
Bad News......Luis was unable to be a part of this episode also 😢. Good News.... We had the pleasure of having Michael Guerra Sub in for him. Not only did he participate in our topics for the show but he filled us in on a great Club he's a part of, the RGV Horror Club. We also prepare for Spooky October by discussing upcoming horror trailers and our personal favorite horror movies, while also veering off into anime territory. (by now you know we have a hard time staying on topic, lol). Happy Listening!!
Episode 8 - History of Action Movies
Luis is back and we are now on Spotify and Itunes!! We are so pumped about our progress and in doing so we got a little carried away. One of our longest podcasts, we talk about the history of action movies!! We dive deep into the first action movie "Great Train Robbery" from 1903 to the action movies we have today. If you can manage to get through all of that we also discuss how to enter our first of many giveaways, the "IMAX Joker Ticket Raffle Giveaway!". We also give our thoughts on some trailers and discuss on a GoFundMe a talented friend, Rudy Salas, is a part of. So get ready for a history lesson of the Action kind! (and please, take as many breaks as needed) 😊
Episode 9 - History of Animation
Another long ass episode LOL (Sorry for that!!) But with good reason. We talk about animation, from Disney to Dreamworks to Pixar and many more aritsts. We kinda wing it so we are all over the place with some info but still all relevant. We also announce the winner of the "Joker Premiere Raffle Giveaway!". So please enjoy our thoughts and hope you don't yell at your radio if we miss some of your favorites. But all in all we hope you enjoy another great episode of our show.
Episode 10 - Joker!!
JOKER, JOKER JOKER!! We promised you and you got it!! We had a blast dedicating this show to the Clown Prince of Crime. On a sad note, we were one man down but we had the next best thing. Not only was he a previous Sub but he was our contest winner, and who Fraga believes is a comic book expert, Michael Guerra. We talk all about the Jokester from his creation to his Origin(s) LOL. We go through all the film, TV and major motion picture, adaptions and give little fun facts/tidbits we think you'll find fascinating all the way to his most recent masterpiece adaption "Joker" (we kept the spoilers to the absolute minimum... as much as we could, so listen with caution). We really hope you enjoy listening to this episode as we did talking about it. As well stay tuned to next week where we plan to release another special "The Spoiler Room: Joker" edition which we will have the trio gush over the movie in great Spoiler detail. Happy Listening!!
Episode 11 - Jon Gonzalez and and Glimpse into the Paranormal
In this Spooky October episode we have another great local guest and personal friend of ours, Jon Gonzalez. He is here to talk about his website truehorrorstoriesoftexas.com (👈click for website) and Facebook page that takes us deep into the paranormal. We have a little Q & A that is entertaining, but not for the faint of heart. We hope this increases your interest in the supernatural....we know ours was. Enjoy and Happy Listening!!
Episode 12 (10.19.19) - This Is Halloween!!
On our latest episode we decided to give you a early chance to get into the Halloween Spirit! We go briefly over the history of "All Hallows Eve". As well as discuss the emotion of fear as a necessity and whats so compelling about wanting to be scared. Horror movies, of course being a great source, we mention personal favorites ( Halloween and non Halloween themed) and Fraga brings up an unpopular opinion that the group strongly feels needs more thoughts on. So please enjoy our episode and after please drop us a comment about Fragas statement (we know you will be fuming about it as well) either on Facebook, on our website (https://jdl-connection4.webnode.com/) or email (jdlconnection@gmail.com). HAPPY LISTENING AND HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
